In 2012, Kern Technologies emerged as an independent entity from Kern Laser Systems Research and Development division, following years of dedicated CO₂ laser development. A separate facility was established in 2013, adjacent to Kern Laser Systems, exclusively for laser development. The objective of this new company was to develop and supply CO₂ lasers across all power levels and wavelengths which Kern Laser Systems could seamlessly integrate into their laser cutting and engraving machines. This milestone was reached in 2020, as the Kern CO₂ laser product portfolio expanded.

Presently, Kern Technologies operates from a cutting-edge 20,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, employing 20 full-time staff and utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. The facility includes a 2,300 sq ft ISO 8 cleanroom. Upholding Kern’s vision, the company consistently researches, develops, and manufactures its own line of CO₂ lasers.
