Product Release – KT250P – 250 Watt CO2 Laser

Product Release: KT250P – 250-Watt CO2 Laser

At Kern Technologies, we are continuously exploring new advancements to optimize our LIGHTWAVE lasers. Leveraging industry progress in Radio Frequency (RF) chip technology, along with innovations in gas composition, optics, and laser power supply circuitry, we have significantly enhanced our most established product line. These improvements have enabled us to achieve a rated output power of 250 watts (with a corresponding enhanced laser Peak power of at least 800W), positioning the KT250P as one of the smallest and lightest 250-watt lasers in its class.

With over a decade of experience and more than 1,000 builds of our KT200 Series lasers—including the KT100 (100-watt CO2 laser), KT150 (150-watt CO2 laser), and KT200 (200-watt CO2 laser)—we have refined every aspect of our designs to deliver reliable, high-performing solutions. The KT250P builds upon this legacy, utilizing the same cavity design as the KT200 series while maintaining an identical footprint. The primary distinction is the KT250P’s requirement for a 56V DC power supply, compared to the 48V DC power supply used by the KT200 series.

Enhanced Features of the KT250P

When compared to the KT200, the KT250P CO2 laser offers:

  • A typical output power increase of 25% to 250 watts rated and over 300 watts typical
  • A typical peak power increase of 100% from 400 to 800 watts
  • Consistent weight, dimensions, output location, and mounting specifications, same as the KT200 series.
  • Near-perfect Gaussian mode quality, a feature shared by both the KT250P and the KT200 Series lasers.
  • The fastest rise and fall times among 250-watt lasers currently available on the market (<40 μs rise time / <60 μs fall time)

These advancements result in a compact, lightweight, and high-performing 250-watt laser that delivers superior rated output power and peak power performance per unit volume and at a competitive price.
